Playing badminton is fun but it can become pricey if you are using feather shuttlecocks instead of plastic. One of the easy options for ensuring that the feathers are durable is to humidify them at least 48 hours before you play. Previously, I used to humidify the birdies I used to put the box on top of the kettle and let it humidify for 45 seconds. Now, i use a humidome or a humidifier to humidify the feathers.
Advantages of Humidifying
- Improves Durability of the shuttlecocks and in my personal experience it lasts longer than the ones that are not. It also improves the overall performance of the feathers.
- The feather shuttlecocks can dry out and become brittle, affecting their flight characteristics and durability.
- They help ensure that the shuttlecocks are in optimal condition when they are used.
